Ed has been having pain in his right upper abdomen for several months. He has been told in the past that his gallbladder would have to come out eventually. Well, we went to the hospital on Saturday night for the pain in the abdomen. They admitted him and on Sunday morning removed the gallbladder.
Here is Ed in the emergency room.
This is pictures of his gallbladder. On the left picture, the white part is the gallbladder and the red is the liver. On the right picture the red is the liver again and the yellowish stuff is the gallbladder
These are three of the stones that were in the gallbladder. The doctor saved them for him!
He is doing fine and as long as he can get up and walk around, pee and eat without throwing up, he can come home tonight.
I got to go back to the recovery room with him. Since he was the only patient in there and I knew the nurse, she let me come back with him.

Basement work
We have had a contractor working in the basement to finish it off.
This picture is taken from the area where the sewing room and Eds office are looking towards the back door. He opened the door ways more to make it a little bigger in that area.
This is the area under the stairs that will have a closet. We are going to put a bar for clothes and shelves in there.
This door way opening on the right goes into the bathroom. This is at the bottom of the steps, through the area that we opened up in the first picture. The opening to the left goes into Eds workshop area and another area that will have an big opening to look into what was Eds workshop.

Redneck Sled Riding
I guess since there is no snow in Georgia (let me just say, thank goodness), Eddie and his friend came up with the next best thing. Shall we call it Redneck sledding?

Skating and Cookies
Warning: Pictures out of order!!
We went ice skating today for Kellis gymnastics team Christmas party. We had a good time. I have not been on ice skates since 8th grade and I am proud to say I did not fall. However, I am sure I will be sore tomorrow!
Kaila did not fall at all and this is the first time she ever skated!
We baked Christmas cookies over the weekend. All the kids helped with all the cookies. As is tradition that was passed down from my mom, the kids always cut out the sugar cookies. Each kid gets their own ball of dough. They also cut out one gingerbread man to decorate as their own. (Girls pictures are further down the page!)
Kelli fell twice on her bottom and she has been skating a couple of times recently.

Christmas Tree
Yes, we did put the Christmas tree up this weekend, but as usual, I can't get the pictures to post in the order I want them, so this one should be at the end. We got the hot tub fixed and all got in it this morning. It felt really good!
Here is the tree and the kids, Dustin, dogs and Fred the Elf.
Roxanne must think she is part of the Nativity (which I don't have up yet) but she has been sleeping under the tree all day!
Ed is always in charge of sorting the ornaments by child and giving them to us to put on the tree. Kelli is patiently waiting for her next ornament to hang.
Here is Kaila hanging her new ornament this year.
Dustin lifted Eddie up so he could put one up high on the tree.
Dustin is hanging an ornament that his mom, Shelley, made several years ago.
Ed always puts the angel on the top. The tree is too tall, so most of the time she is slightly bent.

Freds Activities
Fred has been very active at our house lately!
This morning we woke to find him hanging by a string of Christmas lights that he strung from the ceiling and fan!
Another morning he took toilet paper from the downstairs bathroom and pulled it all the way through the kitchen, up the stairs, down the hall and ended in Eddies bedroom!
I guess Fred wanted to eat with all of us because he got all of our pictures and set them up at the table. He could not find a picture of Ed, so he used Mr. Potato Head!
Wheres Fred??? Fred was lonely and he got two huge garbage bags full of the girls stuffed animals that were in the basement and put them all on the couch! Can you find Fred?
One morning Fred hid! It took Eddie about an hour to find him! He is a good hider!
Eddie has this love/hate relationship with potatoes! Some times he likes them and sometimes he doesn't. I think Fred loves potatoes!

Eddies Boy Scout Christmas Party
Eddie had his Boy Scout Christmas party at the local bowling alley. Unfortunately, his leader was sick and not able to be there, but her husband came in her place. He is the one in the middle holding the pink bag!!
The boys had pizza and bowled, then went and played games for a while.
Kelli went and bowled with one of the other boys sisters. They have been friends since first grade!
The boys exchanged gift cards and had cookies.

Lots of Things
Fred went to the hunting camp with us this weekend. Last night he made smores (or attempted to). We didnt smell anything burning, so I guess he didnt roast his marshmallow!
The night before that, he wanted to go hunting!
On Thursday night he took all the cushions off of the couches and piled them up and was ready to play the Wii!
Wednesday evening he turned all the chairs around backwards and was haning upside down from them!
We went to the hunting camp this weekend. It is the first time Kaila has been there. She seemed to enjoy it and even made the statement that she liked it better there then at the campgrounds we usually go to!
Kelli loves to swing! Ed bought another swing to put up, but didnt get a chance to this weekend
Eddie was in charge of the fires this weekend and he did a great job!
We really needed the fires because it was a chilly weekend.
Ed is showing Kaila the map of the property and explaining that each of the hunters has to post where they are going to be hunting at each day.
We took Christmas ornaments down to hang on the palm tree!
