Super Achiever Eddie!

Eddie has achieved the Super Achiever award in Boy Scouts! This award is given to Webelo Boy Scouts who complete all 20 activity pins. In the five years that Eddie has been in Boy Scouts, I don't remember many other scouts getting this award.

This is Eddie with the Cubmaster, Chris, Den Leader, Carol and his two other Boy Scout Den members, Jack and Austin after they received their awards.

Here is Eddie getting the award from his Den Leader at the ceremony tonight! Way to go, Eddie!

Eddies Pirate Party

I made a treasure chest cake for Eddies party since it was a pirate party. I thought it turned out pretty good!

Pirate Ed even showed up to entertain the boys. He made them walk the plank and told pirate jokes!

The boys had pizza, cake and soda. They played the Wii, had nerf gun battles and watch Pirates of the Carribean movie.

Basement Update

The basement is coming along nicely. Ed hung some of the cabinets in the room between the office and sewing room. He wants to start putting the drop ceiling in and needed these up first.

This is Eds old workshop area. The door on the right goes outside to the patio. This will become the exercise room. The soffits are up and the lights are in. Tomorrow begins the drywall.

Kelli is helping to hold up the cabinets while Ed attaches them to the wall.

I am standing at the back door looking towards the bar (on the right) and the stairs (on the left)

The tile is completely done, except for the grout, which we picked up today and will be applied on Friday. Here I am standing on the steps looking into the bar area.

Space Camp

Ed and Eddie went to Space Camp with the Boy Scouts in Huntsville, Alabama this past weekend.

This is Eddie at the space shuttle landing simulator. I believe he earned the title "Crash" here. While Ed earned the title "Expert"!

This is the fastest airplane in the world called an SR-71. Eddie thought it was pretty cool.

This is a jet pack that Eddie is sitting in.

Eddie and a friend are in the Apollo Command Module Simulator.

Eddie climbed to the top of the rock wall!

Ed and Eddie together at Space Camp. They left early on Saturday morning and returned on Sunday evening.

Go Steelers

Kaila has become quite the Steelers fan in the past couple of years.

She got a Terrible Towel for Christmas and waived it during each touchdown!

All decked out to cheer on the Steelers. She is really hoping they make it to the Super Bowl!

Basement Update

The basement is progressing nicely. The drywall is all up (in the section we are working on) and the first coat of mud is on it. I should be able to paint next weekend.

Here is Kaila in the shower. The walls are now glued in and the handles for the water are in.

Ed has started to set up his work shop area. He had to move everything to its new location.

Since the water is on in the basement, Ed is washing his hands with the shower. The walls were not up yet in this picture.

This is the bar area. I am standing in the workshop. You can see the stairs and to the left of them is the closet under the stairs. The bar top is not in, that is a temp shelf to put things while the contractor is working.

Happy 12th Birthday Eddie!

At 8:34am on January 6, 1997, Eddie was born. Tomorrow he will be 12 years old!

We celebrated his birthday tonight, January 5th since the girls will be late getting home tomorrow because of after school activities.

For dinner, he wanted chicken wings, twice baked potato casserole and cherry chip cake.

He got an air soft rifle from Judy, Marty, Grammy and Pop.

He got some accessories for his nerf guns and some ammo and targets for the air soft gun and a scope for his 22 rifle from us.

Shelley and Randy gave him a Piratology book.

And Judy and Marty also gave him a box of Slim Jims (his teachers thank you!)

Dustin gave him a new game for his Nintendo and he got a give card for Target from Aunt Peg, Jay and Nathan and money from Uncle Pat, Aunt Erynn, Sean and Hadley.
