First, Third and Last

Eddie placed third (hence the third in the title) today in the Boy Scout Pinewood Derby. He got a trophy, ribbon and his car was also voted most unusual.

This is right after the presentation of awards

Kelli had a gymnastics meet this morning.

She placed first (hence the first in the title) in all her events.

I bet you are wondering what the last is for. Well......

Today was Kellis last gym meet. She is retiring.

Today was Eddies last Pinewood Derby. He is moving to Boy Scouts and they do not do Pinewood Derbys.

Eddie recieved the Arrow of Light last night at Boy Scouts. This is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn. He had to do alot of stuff to get this award. It was a very nice ceremony.

Eddie is lighting one of the candles for the ceremony

Ed went up on stage with him and I took pictures. The parents actually present the award to the boys.

Basement Update and Other Stuff

It was a busy weekend in Georgia.

Kaila had a Winter Guard competition this weekend. She left on Saturday morning, competed on Saturday and Sunday. Mom and I drove over on Sunday to see her compete. On Saturday they got 3rd place and on Sunday, 2nd place.

She is the one in the middle of the picture with the glasses on.

This is Kaila with the 2nd place trophy for her team.

Kaila is in the middle of the picture tossing the flag.

We have Wii fit and Eddie was teaching Grammy how to ski.

Grammy got a ride on the 4 wheeler with Ed!

We had a dumpster delivered to put the garbage in from the basement construction. On Saturday, Dustin mowed the grass and Ed and Eddie dumped the grass clippings into the dumpster.

Ed and Eddie had to jump up and down in the dumpster to get more stuff to fit in.

This is the "man cave" or Eds new office. The painting is done and the carpet is down. The carpet is hard to see because of the plastic on the floor to protect it while we painted.

Dad and Ethel are supervising!

This is the stairway going down into the basement with the new carpet on it.

Happy 14th Birthday Kelli!

Fourteen years ago, yesterday February 20th at 9:43pm, Kelli was born. It is hard to believe that she is 14 already!

We celebrated her birthday with Daddys club sandwiches, onion rings, french fries and yellow cake with pink icing.

She got a Guitar Hero for the Wii.

Here she is with her cake.

Opening the Guitar Hero. The kids had a good time playing it last night. It has two guitars so two can play at a time.

Aviation Bug

Ed has a friend, John, who owns a biplane and Ed and Eddie went there today and took some rides.

This is the airport from the sky.

This is the 1932 Stearman biplane that John owns. Eddie is in the plan getting ready for a ride.

Just before take off!

Right after the flight! Eddie was all smiles and has not stopped talking about it yet.

Basement Update

There are a lot of changes in the basement since the last time I posted.

These are the cabinets in the room between the sewing room and Eds office. There is lots of storage space which I am really excited about!

This is the exercise room lighting. We put can lights in all around the perimeter of it. There will be a fan with a light in the center of the room. The light are on a dimmer too.

Another view of the cabinets. You can also see the drop ceiling in this picture. The thing hanging down from the ceiling is the for the furnace. We don't have the vent for it yet.

We now have a toilet! It isn't working yet, but we have one!

The carpet was laid today in the exercise room! This is a shot from the bottom of the steps looking into the exercise room towards the back door.
