Homework

The kids have had homework almost every day since school started. Well this post is about Kelli's homework for tonight. She told me she had to sing to me. She is in chorus, so I just thought she had to practice a song for that. Oh no, this is a song for Spanish class that she had to sing. I am really not sure what the words are, but she did a good job! Unfortunately when I took the video, I had my camera turned on its side, and I can't figure out how to turn the video right side up!

RAIN!

We have rain! Yes, today for the first time in approximately 31 days, it has rained! It rained for about 40 minutes. I know this is not a big deal to some of you who have had a ton of rain this year, but to those of us who live in Georgia and have a deficit of about 17 inches of rain, and their grass is turning prematurely brown, this is a big deal! And for once it is raining and we are not camping! The last three times we camped, it rained and I do mean rain and we had to pack every thing up wet and bring it home and unpack it to dry out! The last time we camped we lost a canopy that we put over the picnic table to give us some shade and the arms of the awning on the camper were ripped off of the camper. Needless to say we have not been camping since the end of July. Hopefully we will camp a couple of more times in October.

A Student at School

We started school last week and I started a few days before that. I was reviewing all of the medical information that the parents have to fill out for each child. One childs name caught my attention rather quickly. Her name is Keenen. Not the last name, it is her first name. I had to call her parents because they needed so sign some paperwork for me. I talked to dad last week and asked him or mom to come to the school one day and sign the paperwork. I was asking him about his daughters name, Keenen. He said it was his wifes maiden name. She was born in Indiana but has not lived there in a few years. Mom came in today to sign the paperwork. So we started to talk about our maiden names being Keenen. She said she talked to her dad and he said he had a relative named Charlie in PA. She did not know them. I just thought it was interesting.

Joining the blogging world

Okay, so my brothers and sister both have a blog and my sister-in-law, Erynn, was the first to ask when will I get one? So I decided to join the masses with my own blog! Hopefully I will keep it up to date with what is happening in our world. So enjoy!
