Boy Scout Camp

Eddie left last Sunday morning to spend a week at Boy Scout camp. He was so excited about going.

On Friday it was family night and any family members could come up for dinner. Ed and I drove up on Friday afternoon. Eddie didnt know we were coming because I wasnt sure we would be able too. Finding him was not as hard as we thought it might be. There were 900 scouts there, luckily they were all at the dining hall, unluckily they all wore the same uniform!! However, I spotted a scout with his troop number on his uniform pretty quickly and we were able to find him fast. He was so surprised! This picture is him in front of the archery range. He worked on 3 different merit badges, archery, first aid, and fishing. He completed the first aid and fishing.

We sent him 2 care packages, the first one arrived on Tuesday and the second one he got today. He is opening it with his new knife that we bought him since he now has earned his Totin' Chit (meaning he can carry a knife and knows how to use it safely).

Marty and Dave, this one is for you. Here he is explaining how big his bass fish was that he caught. Typical fisherman! He had to catch 2 fish to complete the merit badge and he had to clean and filet them! So next time you go fishing, he can clean and filet them for you!!

There were 22 different "campsites" for all the boys. Eddies troop got the furthest one away from all the main activites! Eddie took us to show us the campsite and his tent. Each tent is for two boys. He shared with his good friend, Austin.

He is standing in front of the Mountain Man area. This was a program that he went through at the camp for first time campers. He learned lots of new stuff and had a great time. He will be home tomorrow around noon.

Schools Out For the Summer!!

Eddie graduated from Mashburn Elementary School this morning. The ceremony was very nice.

At the end of the day, the fifth grade class did their "walk of fame", one last trip through the halls of Mashburn with all of the students and teachers lined up in the hallways.

Kelli's 8th Grade Semi-Formal Dance

Kelli's 8th grade dance was tonight at school. She was so excited about it.

Kaila did her hair for her after school.

She looked so pretty in her dress.

She met some other girls at a friends house and they all rode together. After the dance, she is spending the night at another friends house.

Prom 2009

Kailas prom was tonight. (of course I loaded the pictures backwards, so bear with me!)

They went to Steak-n-Shake for dinner. She had three friends with her and the gentleman was the one girls dad who was the chauffer for the evening and treated them all to dinner.

They rode in a black Avalanche.

The prom was held at Chateau Elan. It is a beautiful winery and hotel. Click on the name to see pictures.

This is Ed putting her corsage on.

Didn't she look beautiful??

Heather (cousin) did her hair for her. It was so pretty. She did a great job! I was so glad that I didnt have to do it.

Painting, Cleaning, Snow and Fish Hooks???

The kids and I went to PA for Spring Break to help Mom and Dad with the painting and cleaning of their new house, (pictured here). They had a lot of the painting done, but still more to do.

Peg and Jay arrived on Saturday and we painted the green bedroom and then they painted the hallway while I worked on painting the kitchen cabinet doors.

Mom did alot of cleaning, like the bathroom.

Dad had most of the kitchen cabinet doors off when I got there, but we still had more to take off. I think there were 31 doors and 8 drawers that needed painted.

On Saturday night Peg, Jay and I went to Shelley and Randys to visit and have a drink.

Shelley, what are you doing to Jay? Must be some sort of welcome to Clarion ritual!

Peg signed Mom up for facebook and it took several of them to figure out how to put her picture on there!

Group shot at Shelley and Randys that we sent to Ed. He stayed in Georgia.

Marty, Dad and Jay having a drink on the back porch. This must have been before the SNOW fell!

Judy and Marty brought dinner on Sunday, spaghetti, meatballs and broichle (not sure of the spelling, but it is the rolled meat with garlic in it). It was soooooo good!

Marty made a front loader out of legos and gave it to Eddie.

We headed back to Georgia on Thursday, but not before and early morning trip to the ER to remove the fishing hook from my finger that I picked ip from the carpet. Not sure where it came from. That is my excuse for spelling errors for the next few days!!
